SWIMMING BATHS

It may interest local residents who are endeavouring to raise a lund for the purpose of establishing swimming baths to know that £ bath has just been completed at the Leamington School, Cambridge, for the purpose of teaching children the art of natation. The bath, a concrete one, in the School grounds, is 75ft by 25P, and has depths ranging from two to six feet. The water is pumped from an artesian well nearby per medium of a pump that is capable of raising 500 gallons an hour. Surrounding the bath .seat, ing accommodation has been arranged, while in the eastern corner the dress ng shels are situated. These, although not very spacious, provide for the wants of the swimmers, and each shed contains a cold shower. The area surrounding the bath proper is all concreted, while the whole area is enclosed by a corrugated iron fence. Quite an amount of labour, especially the excavating, was done by voluntary labour.
