KATI KATI SHOW
The Kati Kati Show was held in fine weather on Wednesday, and there was a large attendance. Mr T. W. of Waimana was the principal prizewinner in Milking Shorthorns, and carried off the championship for bulls and also with a yearling heifer. In pedigree Jerseys the championship in bulls was awarded to Mr N. Silcock’s King Pin’s Rajah, whilst Mr E. E. Mander, of Te Puke, carried off the championship in cows with Toothum’s Fay. The same owner’s Toothums’Vi was second in this class. In the Group class Mr Mander's entry was third. Pedigree Friesians were well represented, Mr W. H. Turner’s Hobson Zozo Champion being champion bull, and Mr W. S. Me Ewen’s Hobson King Ona second. Mr McEwen’s cow Netherlands Bonny secured the championship in cows. This animal previously won the white ribbon at T.e Puke and Tauranga, and it is Mr McEwen’s intention to send her to compete at Auckland Show. First prizes were also secured by the same owner for a by.ll calf, 2-year heifer, yearling and heifer calf, and also for a bull and two females in the Breeders’ group. Mr McEwen’s Netherlands Bonny was placed first in the Dairy Cow class, and he also obtained a first for a yearlmg heifer calf. Mr S. W. Mitchell, of Te Puke, scored a second in Friesians with his yearling heifer Rose View, and a first in Grade Friesians, also with a yearling heifer.
