THE HAIRINI BRIDGE.
At a recent special meeting of the Tauranga County Council to consider the balance-sheet, Cr Lally referred to item £62 5/3, expenditure on Hairini bridge and embankment, To Puko riding, in the 1927 balance-sheet. Mr Briasoo pointed out that this section of tho highway was now included in Te Puke Riding. Cr Lally contended that Hairini bridge and embankment was not in Te Puke Riding. He maintained that the houndary of To Puke Riding is high-water markon the Hairini sidp^v-He contended that this expenditure should be included in the. general account under the conditions of an award warrant between the Borough an ; County Council. He also point out that the Borough Council b .<1 paid only £9 16/4 as its share • the costs in connection with th Hairjpi Bridge. j The Clark : explained that tlm Borough’s full share of the cost had since been paid.
