The Library Dull, looked on as one the most popular ot ; ,jc season, was held in McDowell s Hall last night under the most favorable circumstances, lie night was beautifullv fine am cool, and the interior of the tall decorated with tapestry flowers and phormium, presented a very prctt/appearance, lhefirstdance commenced punctually at eight o'clock,! and when the gay and giddv throng began to trip the lieht fantastic the scene presented was a very Bay and picturesque one. Some of the costumes worn were very pretty and original, and a largo number of people were attired in evening and ulain clothes The supper provided consisted of a bountmil supply of edibles which had been kindlv contributed by various residents, the arrangements being left tomembers of the committee. The function was brought to a close at about two o'clock, when the assemblage dispersed thorwell pleased with the ballot 1013. A word of commendation is due to the Ladies' Committee and to the Secretary. Mrs Hoy to, who worked indofatigabiy for the success of the function.
