Mr. Clement Wragge's lovely tropical gardens at his Institute at Birkenhead are now in the full flush of spring, and are charming in every way beyond expression. The magnificent palms are sending out new fronds, and the huge flowers of the giant banana form a sight not to be missed. Shady nooks and lovers' glades are all over the place, and all i.s beauty and sweet peace. Everybody is made most welcome, and visitors to the Institute and Museum can virtually tour the world. Dainty refreshments are available. The St. John Ambulance Association and Brigade will hold a monster floral fete at Ellerslie Racecourse on Saturday, December 6th, in order to raise funds to help on the good work of tl>e Association in Auckland. The object of this fund is to provide mortor ambulances for the transport work of the Brigade, which woulß be available to the public at any hour of the day or night for accident or sick cases. To provide trained nurses with headquarters at the Auckland Station, in Rutland Street, to work in the city and suburbs, and also to erect a sub-station at Epsom, and to further generally the work of both organisations. Its services will be available at all times to the citizens of Auckland atfd suburbs. To help make the floral fete a success , an appeal for entries in the various exhibits is now made. .
