It' one likes vaudeville of average quality, with a percentage of good work, then one can enjoy "Chips/ or " A Visit to the Studio," at present being played by Miss Carrie Moore and Company at His Majesty's. The first half of the show is frankly a variety entertainment, and the second half is farce—rather disconnected farce which certainly conies under the heading of "Medley." Miss Carrie

Moore's work is well-known here m Auckland and she is good in her class, singing with good voice and a pleasing vivlcity many of the songs which earned her popularity at the Opera Houes, and a number of, others equally suited to her talent. Besides the Star the performer next in popular favour was Percy Dalton, whose clog and eccentric dancing was particularly good, if his singing was only ordinary. Percy Chiton is a comedian of the red-nose sort who understands his business, and gets his laughter with broad touches, lie is by no means a minor performer. Albert and Hillier ao an amusing farcical stunt, .Kennedy and Black are songsters who are given to Medley business, and who give rather a thin performance withal, the Two .Lausannes dance daintily enough and sing, and Lily Moore is quite good m her male impersonation business, and as the stenographer in " Chips. All these performers appear in the concluding farce, which is still the medley performance, an excuse for interpolated songs and dances, though, it pretends to be concerned, wii . _ ings of a photographer and his assistant (Carrie Moore) in the Studio. There is no humour of plot. To conclude ; those who enjoy a variety performance will enjoy this, if they go expecting nothing but vaudeville. As vaudeville the show is good-
