Coburg-street, on THURSDAY, the 80th day of October, 1902, a Resolution will be submitted for the Confirmation of the following Resolution passed by the said Council at a Special Meeting, on the 2nd day of October, 1902, and intended to operate as a Special Order, viz. :— " That pursuant to Sections 197 and 199 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900, the Auckland City Council doth hereby, by Special Resolution, intended to operate as a ' Special Order,' resolve to accept the surrender by the Executors in the Estate of the late J. Oakley, of the Lease dated the 21st day of September, 1882, from the Body Corporate of the Mayor, Councillors and Citizens of the City of Auckland, to James Aird Walker, of Lots 13, 14, and 18. of a sub-division of Allotments 1, 2, 4 and 6, of Section 60, of the City of Auckland, with the intention of issuing a Lease direct from the Council to each of the four Sub-lessees of portions of the said Lots for the whole of the Residue of the term created by the said Lease, viz. :— "To Egbert Vaile, of Auckland, Land Agent, for the whole of the said Lot 13, at a rental of £8 7s 6d per annum. "To Edward Wynn- Williams, of Auckland, Gentleman, for portion of the said Lot 14, at a rental of £8 7s Od per annum. "To Caroline Hawkes, of Auckland" Spinster, for portion of the said Lot 15, at a rental of £4 7s 6d per annum. It having been maliciously circulated to the contrary, we, the undersigned Brewers and Wine and Spirit Merchants of the City of Auckland, hereby undertake and agree that we will not make, nor will we be a party to, either directly or indirectly, any application for a license in the Mount Eden, Mount Albert, Kingsland, Mount Roakill, or any portion o the Grey Lynn District, from now until the expiration of three years from the next Local Option Poll, other than the two existing in these districts at tbe'present time, viz., Mrs Balm, Eden Vine Hotel, and Mrs Dempsey, Arch Hill Hotel ; and further, that we will assist the residents of the abqve-mentioned districts, so far as lies in our power, to prevent any new license being granted in such districts eitherby removal, dropping a license or otherwise.
