WAIPA.
— Our local undertaker lias undertaken the responsibility of a wife, and, trade being dull, is now on the look out for a consignment of small -pox from Sydney. — Since the departure of all the blue cloth and brass buttons to the Rotorua roads, the fair damsels of Waipa have been in a sorry state, having no one to lavish their affections upon. — Pohlen says : "It is zust as easy for a needle to valk out mit a camel's eye as for anyone to live peaceably near McMimi's." Mr Northcrqft seemed to think differently, for he gave him a month for assault on the latter. — Some members of the Te Awamutu Rink visited Alexandra by invitation one]' evening last week, and were most hospitably entertained by the Alexandra Kinking Club. Both rinking and dancing were indulged in up to 11.30, when a move was made to quite a ce-cJiei-cllio little supper, prepared by Host Finch, of the Masonic, to which about 30 sat down, and which was much appreciated.
