—Opera costumes as a rule are of light colours. —Rumour declareth that Mr, N. W —h and Miss F., a rather accomplished young lady, Avill shortly be married.

G.'sfaAvn costume, with trimmings of pompadour, made skirt of polonaise, Avith deep bands of pompadour round the polonaise, is a very elegant piece of workmanship. — Miss OAven noAv Avears a handsome black silk oil the principle of skirt and polonaise, AA r ith long black silk mantle trimmed with fur and black chip hat decorated Avith a long oldgold feather. — Miss Rosie Chambers is looking charming in a neAV faAvn costume trimmed with dark brown j and made after the yoke bodice idea, having a deep kilting round the bottom of the skirt. This lady also wears a neat little rink hat. — Miss Hughes looks charming in her neAV black sateen trimmed .vith pompadour, a la princess, with pompadour straps at the back of bodice and pompadour sash. This young lady is to be commended for her generally tasteful style in dressing. — Of the cpera costumes of the season, one; of the prettiest and least gaudy Avas that worn | by Mrs. C. on the occasion of the production of "Faust." The dress Avas of black velveteen trimmed with satin, rather short, on the skirt and polonaise principle.
