ACTION'S REGATTA ANTICIPATIONS.

It is rather a difficult matter to spot the winners in .sailing races, where accidents are so frequent, and more especially so, before the entries have even been received. Some of the boats mentioned below will probably not start, and others now being built or not in port are expected to enter. However, my anticipations are as follows : — Champion Outrigger Race. — Mercury Bay crew, 1. Champion Schooner Race. — "'Torea," 1 ; " Borealis," 2 ; •' Sovereign" 3. "With a good breeze, I would not be surprised to see the '• Borealis" first. Trading cutters, over 25 tons. — " Rangafcira," 1; "Fannie," 2. Open Sailing Boats, not qualified according to rule 29. — " Hattie May." 1 ; " Patriot" or " Sis" (if entered) 2. Trading vessels, over 25 tons. " Reward" or " Adah." Yachts, under six tons. — " Jessie Logan," 1 ; " Lala," 2; "Toy," 3. Scow Rnce. — "Makara.u" or "Pukapaka." Open Sailing Boats, first-class. — " Magic," 1 ; "Mabel," Fishing Yachts, luider six tons. — "Flying Fish," 1; "Whisper" 2. Trading Vessels, under 25 tons, — " Henry," 1. " Spray" for a boil over. Sailing Bouts or Yachts over six tons. — " Sabrina," 1 ; "City of Naples" or Holland's new boat for second place. Sailing Boats (second class). — "Imp," 1.
