IRISH SONGSTER.
DANNY MALONE IN THAMES.
VISIT ON MONDAY NIGHT,
A familiar theme in motion pictures is a story of the unknown singer, who is suddenly discovered and rocketed to fame overnight, but it is seldom that such good fortune transpires in real life. There is at least one exception, Danny Malone, who will appear at the King’s Theatre on Monday, October 3. One day in 1933, when singing in the streets of London for a bare existence, Danny Malone was discovered by Basil Charles Dean, the Australian composer. So impressed was Mr. Dean that ho immediately arranged a radio audition for his find. As a result, the next night Danny Malone was “on the air.” His_ success was immediate.
On Monday night'Danny Malone will he assisted by an overseas company of concerted artists. The O’Carrolls (Eileen and Robert Emmett), harp and violin ensemble; Ted Pratt, entertainer; and Len Lehman at the piano. The box plan is now open.
