PREFERS LABOUR GOVERNMENT. TO NATIONAL POLICY. [By Telegraph.—Press Association], WHANGAREI, Sept, 30. Mr. William Grounds, who was to contest the Bay of Islands seat as an Independent, announced last night that as ho is convinced a three-cornered fight would possibly give the seat to the Nationalists, he had decided to withdraw.

Mr. Grounds was convinced the outlook and policy of the Government was preferable to that of the National Party as a means of dealing 'with the present needs and future developments.
