RESERVED DECISION.
TRAFFIC BREACH. MAGISTRATE'S COMMFHT. "ASTOUNDED AT STATEMENTS." Reserved decision was given in the Thames Magistrate's Court this morn iug by Mr. t\ 11. Levien, S.M., in con uectiou with the traffic case, Transport Department v. Alan Douglas. The latter pleaded not guilty to failing to ( keep his vehicle as far as practicable to the left. Defendant was convicted and fined 30/- and costs 34/-.
The magistrate stated he had reserved his decision in order to look at the locality of the collision and he was astounded at some of the statements mado regarding the locality. There had been the question of clay or no clay. He had looked in vain for any semblance of clay, the only pieces of such material he could sac having fallen from the hillside on the Thames side of the corner. There was no clay visible on the corner. '*s. have come to the conclusion that the case is one of those that might be said was stage-managed," continued his Worship, stating it was his opinion the witness named Kelly stagemanaged the ease. He had taken it into his own hands to manage it, added Mr. Levien.
