CARS ON COAST ROAD.

[To the Editor] Sir, —I sec by your local column recently that moro care in driving is requested on your Coast Hoad during the summer months. If the writer of that paragraph has ever driven 'from Tapu and met a lorry or big car on some of the corners, he will know what it is like being forced over against overhanging hedges and having the paintwork on his car scratched from end to end. These overhanging hedge's have been a serious menace on this road for years, and they have done damage costing many pounds to motorists. Surely Mine local body has the power to order hedges which overhang to be cut back to the survey line, so why is action not taken? —I am, etc., VISITOR.
