CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY CO.

A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. The 22nd. annual meeting ef the Hauraki Plains Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., will take place in Turua Buildings on Thursday next, August 5. In their annual report, which is to be presented at the meeting, the directors state that tho estimated payments to supplies for the 1935-36 season for cheese were 14.058 d, the actual final

payment being 14d, excluding interes on share capital. For butter, the estimated paymen was 13.185 d, and that was the actua final payment, excluding interest or share capital. In each case this interesl represented .191 d on butterfat to both in addition to the above payments, mak ing a total of 14.191 d for cheese am 13.376 d for butter, respectively.

For this season the unsold stocks of cheese for export have been taken in at the Government purchase price according to grades, the cheese for local sale at 7d per lb., the stocks of butter all for local sale, have been taken in at 1/2, and on this basis the estimated total payment per lb of butterfat, al! grades, ifl: for cheese supply (including interest on shares at 5 per cent., whiel" is equal to .l&2d per lb butterfat), 14.907 d, and for butter supply (including interest on shares equal to .182 d per lb of butterfat) 14.066 d per lb butterfat.

The balances in the appropriation ac counts of cheese and butter as avail

able for distribution provide for the above payments, the interest on shares at 5 per cent, absorbing the total sum of £624/2/11.

Cheese suppliers have received an average advance payment of 12.948 d and butter supplies 11.960 d for the season, and the dire"cTors recommend tha a progress payment of per lb butterfat be made at the annual meeting, together with interest at 5 per cent, on all paid-up capital, the balanoe to be paid when final realisations are received.
