WELLINGTON MEN. OTHER PLACES NOT AFFECTED (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, March 20. The position in regard to tho printing dispute remains unchanged. The employers sent a letter to tho Wellington Union yesterday expressing regret that the oiler of a 5 per cent, increase and other concessions had been rejected and been followed by a strike. The Wellington Union held a meeting and adjourned until to-day.
These has been no cessation of work in other cities or towns, and normal newspapers are being published in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin and all provincial centres. CONFERENCE OF PARTIES. NO ANNOUNCEMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, March 20. Representatives of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association and the Master Printers’ Association met in Wellington to-day to consider matters in connection with the printer’s’ dispute. The meeting is still proceeding and no announcement was made at lunch time.
