BOARD’S LATEST RETURNS. AUGUST REGISTRATIONS. COMPARISON WITH 1933. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, Sept. 19. The Unemployment Board’s latest return of numbers receiving assistance from the Unemployment Fund on September 1 reveals an increaso of 561 in the total assisted as compared with the total for the previous month. There is, however, a substantial decrease of 11,098 when the present total of 63,012 is compared with tho corresponding total at September 1, 1933. The figures of 63,012 recorded in the present return are mado up as follows: — Receiving part-time relief under No. 5 scheme, 33,167.
Receiving sustenance without work, 5748. Engaged in industrial undertakings with assistance by way of subsidy. 24,097.
