Local And General.
"A Rare Bird!" "Here's a rare bkd!" said the clerk, Mr.. B. A. Mahoney, at Thursday's meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council, when he presented a voucher crediting the Council with 5/- for goldfields revenue. It was considered the miner must be a super-optimist if he had started mining work on the Hauraki Plains. New Delivery ,Van. A new motor delivery van arrived in Thames this week to the order of Mr. P,. Reddy, the well-known butcher of Cochrane Street. The motor is the latest model of the Standard Motor Company, England, and was supplied by Messrs. Donkin Bros., of the Thames Service Station, who are the Thames district agents for Standard cars and trucks. The bodywork was constructed in Auckland, and is well made on pleasing lines. The van is the most up-to-date at Thames and should give its owner many years of good service.
