PAEROA RACES.

A CORRECTION. 1 In the published list of acceptances, the name Pinari 7.0, appeared, through a telegraphic error, as a contestant for the Waihi Handicap. Enquiries made this morning reveal that the name should have appeared as Piiio'n, who, according to "Sasanoff,” is expected, to run prominently. Town Bank will riot be at Paeroa for the Ohinemuri meeting. Owing to the recent dry spell, the track win be- on the hard side, and Town Bank is not suited by such going. Polonett, Serang, Joy Ride. Chair-, man, Exactly, Archibald, Charlady, Norma. Talmadge, Boot Free and Irish Jig have arrived at Paeroa. Norma Talmadge, who forms one of J. Williamson’s team for the Ohinemuri meeting, was sent over from Sydney to be trained by him. This will he her first appearance in a race in s the Dominion. The recent rains have made, little or no difference to the Paeroa. track, which is reported to be “as hard s ' flint.” This will prejudicially affect the running of many horses, of the type of Curraghmore, who give of their best when the sting is out of the ground. There is an unconfirmed rumour that Transformer has developed soreness. Owing to the hardness of the ground the horses at Paeroa were given light work only this morning. The Paeroa officials ordered the rolling of the course during the last day or two, apparently, under the impression that a heavy fall of rain was about to ensue.
