ASSAULT AT HAMILTON.

A COSTLY BLUNDER. (A. and N.Z. Cable.) HAMILTON. Fell. 24

While sitting in a taxi in Grey Street, Hamilton East on a recent evening a borough .surfaceman named Henry Hull, was suddenly dragged out by two men, Arthur Ryan and Jack Barnes. He landed on his head, and while on the ground was severely handled.

At the Police Court to-day Ryan and Barnes admitted the assault, but explained that they had mistaken Mr. Hull for another man who had kicked one of their chums on the head earlier in the day. When they discovered they had given the wrong man a hiding they endeavoured to square the matter. Each defendant was fined £lO and costs.
