QUEENSLAND LOANS.
STRONG CRITICISM. (A. & N.Z. Cable.) SYDNEY, April 4. Fihelly, the ex-Agent-General for Queensland, in an interview declared from purely an Australian and Labour industrialist standpoint, Mr Theodore made a great mistake in connection with ;he Queensland loan. His London negotiations amounted to an undignified climbing-down for tho Premier and his Cabinet representing Labour. Fihelly strongly insisted that the! Australian industrialists must endeavour to get control of finance and not waste their energy on .smaller aims. He added: “Our loans must not be. controlled by the financiers in London or New York.”
