FOODSTUFFS FOR BRITAIN.

A MATTER OF ORGANISATION. “It is evident that what is required is that the meat supplies of this country should be scientifically organised. with the double purpose of maintaining an ample and cheap supply, while preserving the interests ,of the English producer. At present these conflict with the interests of the producers in the Dominions. Therefore, it is first of all necessary to devise a practical arrangement under which the Dominions supply the fifty-five or mbre per cent of meat required. The foreign producer is doing his utmost by means ofs killed organisation to extend his market in this country, and we suggest to the Dominions that they should meet organisation with better organisation. It is a matter in which Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa might well combine their forces; and they might consider it advisable to invest a certain amount of public money in the business.” —The Morning Post. /
