BOWLING.
WAIKINO GREEN OPENED. [ On Saturday last the official opening of the Waikino Bowling Club took place in very unfavourable weather. Even under these circumstances there was a good attendance, •but .after playing for some time the game had to be abandoned. There were visiting players from Auckland, Te Aroha, Kararigahake, Paeroa, and Waihi. Mr J. E. Banks, president of the Waikino Bowling Club, extended to the visitors welcome, and expressed his pleasure at seeing so many present. . After the jack had been thrown up the green the first bowl was played by Mrs J. E. Banks, after which the president declared the green opened, amid applause. Representatives of the visiting clubs expressed their thanks to the Waikino club for the reception accorded to them. Luncheon and afternoon- tea was served by the ladies, and a vote of thanks was tendered them. . J
