FEDERAL POLITICS.

NO-CONFIDENCE MOTION. . SITUATION REVIEWED. (A. and N.Z. Cable). October 12. The no-confidence motion, moved by the leader of the Country Party, in the Federal Parliament, comes up for discussion on Tuesday. The Daily Telegraph says that the situation has big potentialities. The Country Party cannot hope to win, but it is stated that there are numbers of Nationalists who desire to see Mr Hughes out of office, and if 'the Labour Party decides to support the Country Party these members will vote with the Opposition. In the event of being defeated, it is thought that Mr Hughes will be able to form a Ministry with Nationalists and Moderate Labour, who oppose the drift towards the extremists.
