MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE.
There was a' much improved tone about the market at the Farmers' Auctioneering Co.'s -.Morrinsville sale on Friday,' although slackness was noted in several departments. No beef was entered, the experience—of the last sale, no doubt, causing -beef men to hesitate about submitting their' -stock at auction. Fat cows were in improved demand, and sold at varying prices from £6 to Others sold up to £5 10/-. Bulls were not wanted. Empty heifers were knocked down at from £5 to £5 10/-. There was a very keen demand for young heifers, and excellent prices ruled. A line of yearling Jersey heifers sold at £B. The quality of dairy stock offered was not of the best. Those in good condition and well forward found ready competition, and prices ranging up to £lB 10/- were realised. The next best prices for dairies were between £l2 and £l4. Backward sorts were not wanted.
The sheep market was dull, there being no keenness in the demand. Fat lambs were passed in at 14/-; fat wethers realised up to 25/3. Another big line of wethers was sold at 24/9.
Pigs Avere in exceptionally warm demand. Weaners sold at from £1 to 35/-; porkers, £2 to £3; bacon pigs, £4 10/- to £5 5/-,
