WOMAN SWALLOWS RING. .. DETECTED BY X-RAYS. (A; and N.Z. Cable.) (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, August 20.' f; The first case of the X-rays diagnosing stolen property in the human body occurred at ' Thurrock, Essex. A woman was arrested for stealing rings from a jeweller's shop. She swallowed the plunder. The Chief Constable ordered an examination, and the rays clearly revealed the rings in the woman's stomach.
An emetic harmlessly restored the stolen property.
