FIRE AT HASTINGS
HASTINGS, Nov. ft A fire has occurred at Hastings, Hawke's Bay, of which we have had no particulars. ' But a later message gives details of insuaiances as follows: —' Stock, Hyde £800, Hanah and Co, £2,300 in the New Zealand^ W. Hinde, £405 in the Australian . Alliance. ■ Buildings: Hyde and Hinde's premises, £1,100 in the Ptioenix ; Armstrong's and Hannah's, £500 in the same office. Both were owned by Knight Bros., of Dannevirke. The occupiers estimate the stock and plant values as follows: — Hyde, £2,500 (nothing saved); Airm,strong's, £4000, partially destroyed ; Hannah and Co. £3000, mainly damaged, by smoke and "water ; Wolf, £200 (nothing sa-ved); Hinde, £800 ■{nothing saved). —Press Association.
