THE ZIONISTS' DREAM.
In the hall of the Cooper Union at New York on May 6 there was a great demonstration by East End Jews in favour of the aims of the Zionist organisation. Mr Nathan Strauss, the eminent pihilanthropist, announced that he would finance the journeying of all Jews who ? when the war is over, ane prepared to follow him to Jerusalem and there found
a Jewish State under international prow tedtion. Said Mr Strauss: We are living through an age "when we are about to realise the 2,000-year-old hope of ifte Jewish people. I am especially glad that we are witnessing thei spectacle of the whole world applaudingj approving, and supporting} dux /great purpose jto reestablish the Jewish people on their own soil. For the whole world has come to recognise the justice of our demand- - that our dearly beloved Palestine, the land of Jewish heart® 1 desire, should bo restored to us. I have been a Zionist all my iife, although I didn't know ib. 1, shall go to the Holy Land, when that will be possible, when we have our own State. To those of you who can prove to me that you are firm Zionists, and who desire to go to Palestine with 1119, I will advance the necessary fares. Mr Louis Lipski } a prominent adherent of Zionism, submitted the following resolution, which was enthusiastically \a<lopted; We renew our allegiance to the. fundamental object of the Zionist movemenitr—viz., to' obtain for the Jewish people a publicly secured and legally assured home in Palestine.
