X' qujixrol arose in the' house at dinnerj and it is alleged that Jac^-son seized a. knife and stabbed his son. Realising wHa^t he had done, Jackson sadd'.od a horse and galloped to Ashhurat tor niedicid assistance, which was procured, and the young man was brought to L'ai. merston Hospital. His condition became W'Tne* late at night, and the police were communicated with. Jackson w;'s arrested at an hotel in Asi&arst, and brought to Palmerston, whore his son died.
