Referring to th*e 'Morning Post's' criticism of Britain's naVal power, Senator Millen (Minister for Defence) pointed out that -at tihe 1909 Imper;a Conference provision was made f*>r three lUiiits, namely, Elast Indies. China, and Australia. There are vow some vessels of the. British, fleet in the Pacific, but the capital ships, w-hifthi were to be the essential part of tilie two units, Kaive not so fair been provided. This would he discussed at the conference which he was -.n----deavouring to arrange withi the Imperial authorities. He Was hopeful that the result- .would be to secure joint action ibetween lie British Government and the Dominions to secure complete and satisfactory control of British .interests in tihe Pacific.
