THE FORESTERS' FETE.
— I *_ — YESTERDAY'S SPORTS. There was a large attendance at the P'arawai racecourse yesterday when the annual fete and spots j meeting promoted by the Thames" ' Foresters was held. Year by year the gathering has been improved until it is now recognised as the athletic event of the district and of the year. The officials who had charge of the spo/ts meeting were 1 as under: — Judges, Arch. Burns, Esq., Dr Lapraik and A. G. LeFevre, Elsq.; handicapper, Mr HI Matheson; timekeeper, E. Deebk, Esq.; referee, Mi* H. Matheson ; staiter, Mr 'EL O'Sullivan; protest committee, Messrs T. Hays, A. Fleming, j and F. Wind; committee, Messrs T. j W. Hays (chairman), EL J. Milnes, W. Henderson, Ri. Muir, S. C. Mbir, A. | , Wilson, A. Fleming, A. T. Poole, J. ■ Cook, D. Gollop, W. Paul, W. Taylor, JF. Keller, R. Cbx, F. Wind, and Mr D. K. Rfedwood in his old place as secretary. The Battalion Band, under Lieut. Clark, rendered a pro--1 gramme of enjoyable selections. | The programme of events was a varied one and as the entries exceeded those of previous years the sport provdied was of the best.
