Through the shadowy watches of night, A shimmer of hopes, that aJbide between \ His margins of daily light. The sleep of the Labouring man is sweet 1 ; - - When the brain of the tradesman wake#, ' ■ - 1 -When the pulses of merriment throb a.nd beat, No stir on his slumber breaks; _ Tno woof of his drenm is the subtle blend The whisper of wind, the voice "r.f v friend, v ' ■'■] "And oa-11 of the night-bird- near,Of the sounds which he last ga^e' e£r.
