The Thames Election.

The returning officer (Mr Potts) has declared the official result of the/firstspoiling in connection with the Thames election. The voting was as under: —■ El. H. Taylor 1308 W. H. Lucas 850 B. Dflfeble 574 T. W. Rhodes.. 55? F. H. Haselden 493 The total, number of valid votes recorded was 3782. 'The absolute majority of votes required by Mir Taylor to secure election was 1892, and:- he polled 584 less than, the numiber required to secure his return. The number of votes rejected as informal was 122. .
The second ballot will therefore take place on Thursday, February 4rth, between Messrs Taylor and I/uoas.
