Gold at Low Levels.
STRUCK IN BENDIGO' AT 4200 ft.

MELBOURNE, August 10. Gold bearing stone has been taken from the 4200 ft level in, the New Chum mine, Bendigo. This is the deepest find in the world. , (This is scarcely correct. At Johannesburg the gold bearing formation was cut by means of a bore at 4700 ft. At Bendigo it is probably the deepest find at any working seotion of a mine.)
