Sudden Death in Hape Creek.

At about 5 o'clock yesterday after*noon Mr Bichard Thomas of Hill street, Block 27, reported to Constable Hodgson that an old man named Samuel Dennison had died suddenly at his residence Hape Greek. Constable Hodgeon at once proceeded to make enquiries. On reaching the house ho found Mr Dennison lying on a couch in the kitchen, quite dead. Mrs Margaret Dennision informed him tbat ehe last saw her husband alive, in the garden, at about 3.40 yesienlay tfternoon. A few minutas afterwards she went into the house and found him .yirg on a couch in the kitchen. As ho appeared to be asleep she returned to the garden, where she had been working. At about 4 o'clock she reentered the house and on going over to where her husband lay she found he was dead. The deceased had been ailing for over ten yean and had been unable to do any work. Some years ago he was attended by Dr. CalJan but not within a recent period. For the past week he bad been suffering from diarrhoea. He had no children uor any near relatires in the colony, *ith the e«c ption of his wife. He was 69 years of age.

The circumstances were reported to he Coroner (Mr A Bruce) who decided ro hold an inquest at Mr B. Ihomas' residence at 4.30 this afternoon.
