In the course of his recent speech a Johnsonville the Premier (Hon. K. J Seddoa) said; With regard lothe charge made against him of having accepted office on a foreign syndicate, he said he should be the last to take any private position that would clash with his public position or bring in the slightest degree any discredit on the people of New Zealand, and he also asked whether Cap am Russell and Sir Robert Stout did not hod position as directors of public bodies when they were in office ? It on'y showed to what straits the Opposition were driven when they had to attack the Premier because, as a mmm? expert, he had joined a certain council, and was going to use his brains to endeavor to lead money for investment in mining into legitimate channels.
