At the Supreme Court Thomas Casey, aged 22, was fouisd guilty of rape on a married woman at Naseby. The case was a very brutal one, the woman being left in an unconscious condition and bearing marks of extreme brutal violence A number of previous convictions were proved, and the Judge sentenced Casey to fifteen years' pfnal servitude, with one flogging of thirty lashe9.
