Te Aroha Election.

RESULT OF THE CONTEST. Considerable interest was evinced yesterday in the election of a representative for the Te Aroha electorate, and although the general impression was that Mr Fraser would be returned by a substantial majority, the friends and supporters of Sir Walter Bailer throughout the district did their utmost to secure the election cf their candidate. As was anticipated, Dr. Broome was never in the running, as he only succeeded in polling 11 votes. The result of the contest is s most unmistakable victory for Mr Fraser by the large majority of 345 votes out of a total of 1406 polled, exclusive of 8 informal at Parawai, 1 at Waterford, 3 at Waihi, and lat Tairua. The following are the detailed results of the voting at the various polling places with the exception of Whangamatß, which has not yet come to j hand :—
