Queensland Mines in London.

According to the Mining Journal, the London market has been inundated by "all softs and conditions of men," who hare hid gold mines for sale. A perfect exodus had taken place, and notwithstanding some of the frauds placed on the market, such as the Mount Morgan West mine, hare been denounced by the Mining Journal, the shoal of Queensland adrentureri was not to be deterred, and the cry was still they come, no doubt laboring under the idea that the British public are a nation of Oliver Twists craving for more. The latest application for British capital was that of the " Mount Sham rock G.M. Co., Queensland," certainly a big country in which to locate a paltry "fire acre's," which is the great gold mine offered for.a. capital of £280,000. The purchase price was modestly fixed at £265,000, of which £93,333 is payable in fully paid up shares and £180,000 in cash, and the balance in cash or shares at the option of the company. The liberality of the owners and vendors of this extensive gold-mining property of five acres is something unique in the annals of mining history, and their audacity in asking the British public to subscribe, £280,000 for such a paltry affair, is about on a par with the cheek of the Mount Morgan West gold mine.
