COROMANDEL.
As our readers are already aware, there were two candidates for the Coromandel electorate—Messrs Cadman and Mackay —and contrary to expectations, the contest has proved one of the keenest that has ever taken place for this seat. The following are the results from the several,, polling places :— Pabawai—Cadman, 142 ; Mackay, 70. KibiKibi—Cadman, 3; Mackay, 20. -Puuißi—Cadman, 29; Mackay, 4. Hikutaia —Cadman, 33 ; Mackay, 10. Kaeangahaks—Oadman,23; Mackay, ! 39. Owhaboa—Cadman, 17, Mackay, 20. Paeboa—Cadman, 35; Mackay, 62. Cobohandel—Cadman, 168; Mackay, 166. Tapu—Cadman, 49; Mackay, 11. Whakgapoua—Cadman, 8; Mackay, 22. Mbbcuet Bat—Cadman, 40; Mackay, 67. Taibua—Cadman, 14; Mackay, 35. Gttm Town, Whenueka—Cadman, 48; Mackay, 35. Cabbage Bat—Cadman, 18 ; Mackay, 6. " ■ • i Neavestillb. —Cadman, 18 ; Mackay, '■8. Waihi. —Cadman, 20; Mackay, 4. This gives the number of rotes polled by Cadmaa as 665, and Mackay 579, being a majority of 86 for Cadmao. One return has yet to come in, viz : Whanga* mata, but it wi'l not alter the result.
