The Zulu War.
Cetewayo Seekingl Terms of Peace. London, April 4. The Gazette publishes a despatch to the London agents of Cape Colony, dated Ist March, announcing that messages from Celewayo had arrived asking for the iuspeusion of hostilities and resumption of negotiations with the Cape Government, Cetewayo states he never intended to fight; that the fighting at Sandalt was caused by a British attack. April 5. The Burmese prince, Nyonnga!ua, having returned to Burmah in disguise, the Chief Commissioner in British Burmah has sent him back to Calcutta. In the University Boat Kace to-day Cambridge won easily.
i 3 London, April 4. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, in replying to a question, said negotiations continue between the Indian and Afghan Governments, and a favorable issue is still expected, but in the meantime orders have been given for an advance upon Cabul. The Viceroy of India has, however, been instructed to take no important movements without the authority of the British: Government. , ;r r The Under Secretary for Foreign Affairs,, replying to a question, said that French troops have occupied the English island of Matacony, on the. west coast of Africa, and that the Government have made' representation to the French Government on the matter.
