Tuesday.
A meeting attended by almost 200 people, was held to-night to consider what steps should be taken to raise funds for the sufferers by the Kaitangata accident. The Mayor presided, and the meeting was most enthusiastic. It is anticipated that a large sum will be collected.
The inquest was continued at Kaitangata, but the evidence so far has been almost anticipated in the reports published and telegraphed. The . witnesses examined were Thomas Edward Turning (Mining Surveyor), Robert (?) Eeger (Land Surveyor), and Eobert Nelson (miner).
