Promotions Announced LONDON. Sept 27. The Admiralty has announced the promotions of Vice-Admiral Sir Harold M. Burrough to Admiral of the Fleet, and Rear-Admiral J. 11. Edelsten to Vice-Admiral. Sir Harold Burrough. who was bom in 1888. has been Flag Officer Commanding at Gibraltar since 1943. He was Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff at the Admiralty in 1939 and 1940 and subsequently commanded the 10th Cruiser Squadron and the naval forces at Algiers. He was awarded the D.S O and Bar. and in 1942 he was knighted. Vice-Admiral Edelsten was formerlv Lord Commissioner of the Admiraltv and Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (U-boat warfare and trade). He was chief-of-Staff to the Commander-in-Chief of the Mediterranean Station in 1941 and 1942. Admiral of the Fleet Lord Cunningham. First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff, who was recently elevated to the peerage, taken the title of Lord Cunningham of Hyndhope.
