New Zealander’s Resource That any subject has the right to petition the King was proved by a New Zealander resident in London, the son of Mr G. H. Morrish, of Whangarei. Early in the year a V2 rocket had blasted' the windows out of M: Morrish’s fiat and repeated applications to the local authority failed tr produce any response. As a final resort Mr Morrish decider: on the bold plan of petitioning the King. Quoting bis war service he explained the position to his Majesty in a letter A reply was received from liis Majesty's private secretary, stating that he had been "commanded” m take the matter up with the Health Department, and within a week three men from the local authority visited the flat and reglazed the windows using real glass instead of the cardboard composition usually employed in ■ first aid" repairs.
