SHIPPING PORT OF TIMARU
WATERFRONT QUIET There was no work on the waterfront yesterday and no shipping is expected here to-day. At present three vessels, two coastal traders and an Australian wheat ship, are listed to work the port to-morrow, but if the rain continues it is unlikely that all will arrive on schedule. EXPECTED ARRIVALS Breeze, Lyttelton Sept. 36 Karitane, Adelaide Sept. 26 Waimarino, Dunedin Sept. 26 Marie Bakke, Sydney -Sept. 28 Kaikorai, Lyttelton Early Wainui, Oamaru Early Waipahi, Oamaru Early Waipiata, Bluff Early PROJECTED DEPARTURES Breeze, Wellington Sept. 26 Waimarino, Wellington .. .. Sept. 26 Karitane, Oamaru Sept. 27 Kaikorai. Dunedin Early Marie Bakke, Middle East port Early Wainui, Napier Early Waipahi, Lyttelton Early Waipiata, Auckland Early NOTES Cargo for Wellington only awaits the Breeze, due to-morrow from Lyttelton. She will load and sail on the one day. Now en route from Adelaide, the Karitane is due here to-morrow with a shipment of Australian wheat for South Canterbury and North Otago After discharging her Timaru consignments she will lift return shipments of general cargo and sail for Oamaru the following day. The Waimarino is expected here this week from Dunedin to load for Auckland. Weather permitting, she will leave Dunedin to-night and start work at Timaru to-morrow. After this port she goes to Wellington. Scheduled to leave Sydney yesterday for Timaru direct, the Marie Bakke is expected here on Friday. She will lift a cargo of biscuits consigned to the Middle East, but her movements after Timaru are not yet listed. Tire Kaikorai is scheduled to leave Sydney on September. 27 for Lyttelton, thence Timaru. She is now loading at Sydney and will also go to Newcastle for New Zealand consignments; here she will discharge iron and timber as well as other general cargo. From Timaru she will lift general shipments before proceeding to Dunedin and Bluff. After discharging at Napier and Gisborne the Wainui will be back here for further shipments for those ports. Nelson and New Plymouth cargo wil; be taken by the Waipahi, due here at. an early date from Dunedin and Oamaru. The Waipiata will go south from Lyttelton to Bluff before calling at Timaru on her return trip to Auckland. She will take cargo for that port and sail direct from here.
