CAR CAPSIZES
Linesman Killed (N.Z.P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 24. One man was killed and another seriously injured when a three-seater car in which they were travelling south capsized between Rolleston and Burnham about 6.15 p.m. The third man In the car escaped with shock. All three men were linesmen employed by the P.ost and Telegrapn Department. They had been camped at Burnham, to which they were returning when the accident occurred. The’ v’.'tims were: Killed Robert Penman, aged 37, single, of Alfred Street. Auckland. His father is believed to be an employee ot the Post and Telegraph Department at Otanuhu. Injured Herbert E. Hogg, of Blackball, head injuries. The car was driven by Hogg. Penman was sitting on the left side of the car, and the third occupant, Jack Alexander Ralston, of Church Street, Northcote, Auckland, was sitting between him and the driver. Hogg was taken by Army personnel from Burnham camp to Christchurch Public Hospital. Ralston received treatment for shock at Burnham.
