Jubilant Scenes (N.Z.P.A.) GREYMOUTH, Aug. 15. Greymouth celebrated the end of the war with unrestrained jubilation. Sirens, whistles and bells soon brought crowds into the streets, where young people on foot and in motor and horsedrawn vehicles sang, danced and made a noise in all ways possible. Buildings, vehicles and ships in port were soon hung with flags and bunting. Shops closed after those selling food had done a big trade to cover the holiday period. This afternoon a long procession took place ending with a gathering addressed by the Mayor and a representative of the returned men. and community singing. Celebrating crowds continued to throng the streets to-night. The weather was fine.
