INCREASED RENTALS

Dairy Workers’ Protest (N.Z.P.A.) PALMERSTON N. Aug. 15. At a meeting of the Wellington branch of the Dairy Factory Workers' Union, a resolution was passed emphatically protesting against the employers’ proposals to increase the rents of existing houses. Many workers complained of the excessive rents charged for existing houses. To increase the rents of such would be a vicious and revolutionary step. The meeting instructed the National Union to combat the proposal and appealed to the Government to refuse authority as serious trouble would result.
