Petrol For Celebrations (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON. Aug. 13. In connection with the victory celebrations, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan stated to-day that there would be special petrol allowances for those desiring to attend celebrations where there was no suitable public transport, though it was felt that the coupon allowance should meet the requirements of the majority. District controllers have been instructed to give sympathetic consirierdtion to applications where alternative transport is not available, also to applications for temporary licences from passenger Service operators to carry the public to celebrations. The Government is particularly desirous that all school children should have an opportunity to take part in the festivities.
