Sympathy with Mr F. J. Rolleston, a former Mayor, in his illness, was expressed at a meeting of the Timaru Borough Council last evening. Advice has been received from the Admiralty that the King has approved of the award of Mention in Dispatches to Temporary-Lieutenant (E) John Branksea Lockie, R.N.Z.N.V.R., for service in successful actions against U-boats. Lieutenant Lockie is an Australian who resided in Auckland for some years. His wife resides in the United Kingdom
